Dinner was OK!

We still haven't seen the dragon but walked on it's back.

Got frighten by a giant spider on the way to Shek O Beach.

And had dinner at the canteen of the Hong Kong Western Police Station. Well it's a long story...

Daniel took the good pictures, I made the bad ones.

End of Queensroad, West

Hong Kong, Sheung Wan, Queensroad West, 22nd August, 4 AM. I'm struggling with frames, formats and codecs for about eight houres. I use to do the something like this at my workplace with the difference that I was payed for that. Now I'm free or what?!

Sitting in Andrian's desk nearby the window and watching the screen of my laptop. Converting, editing, exporting and uploading videos day by day from here's close to the impossible. I mean it's really possible if you're watching your viewer in every single minute while walking around the city but not the people and place where you really are, and stock in a room on the 9th floor half a day and screen, edit, export, upload and so on. I bought several chinese CDs today to have original music for editing but couldn't play them. Some local format, or I don't know. I still haven't seen anything except the end of the street, I woke up at 4:30 PM yesterday, editing, yet-lag. I don't want to make crap, rather something longer from the shots I have when I'm back. I'm here for Hong Kong! This was the moral of the day. And maybe a bit more.

Now I need to sleep some, share a couch with a Polish guy, who was sent back from the airport this afternoon as he didn't have the return ticket back from New Zealand and speak polish-english while dreaming. Here we are. Madness! Uploading daily HD videos from the other corner of the world was simply a dream I have to face this. So I'd rather look around here, enjoy the hospitality of this amazing city, stay with text and still images, all in all in REALITY.

Than and now

Landing in Hong Kong with three hours delay, tired, hungry, sweaty. 33 C, 88% humidity. Sunshine! Caught bus to Sheung Wan, got lost, taxi.

Had good local food with local faces front of my stay. My great host is Adrian from Romania and for tonight we have Daniel from Poland, both guys are in IT, East European majority at the 9th floor on 25 square meter in the heart of Hong Kong! Sharing a flat designed for local demands: small. Small table, small, chair, small window, big cockroach... not in the flat but on the street. Daniel's leaving tomorrow to New Zealand for work, Adrian stays in the jungle to fight his daily battle with bits, servers and databases. God bless him, I've a couch to sleep!

Tomorrow's basic checking around, editing at night. Here are a few shots from Daniel about our surroundings. Find more photos from him here! Thx!

Sunrise

Sitting on the plane somewhere above India people are sleeping around me. Now I have enough time to think about the meaning of this whole trip but not enough space to stretch my legs. Crossing time zones and countries, heading east.

This machine is a big fat B777-300 ER aircraft, with 300 passengers on board, cruising with the speed of 950 km/h, in an almost 15.000 km altitude. Displays and hi-tech gadgets're built in each seats, films, music and games. I've just watched X-MEN, listened the full Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack, made a logo for a Dakta Dub, aka. Dj Balu, who's might be sleeping straight here under my feet somewhere in Hyderabad, and it's still five and a half hours to Hong Kong! China is far from Budapest, Turkish Airlines still have the best food at this height! No sign of any dragons yet.

Any dragon on board?

4 USD for an espresso at Starbucks, 15 EUR for visa to let you out from the transfer, otherwise there's no possibility to smoke at all. Welcome to Istanbul!

I had four hours to look take a quick look downtown enjoying the guidance of the greatest 'taksi' driver of Turkey! Barbaros took me to Blue Mosque, had kebab together and saw the border of Asia on the other side. Now sitting in a café at Istanbul Airport waiting for the next check-in. Arrive Hong Kong tomorrow at 14:40 local time. That's gonna be though! Videos coming soon! Turkish Airlines have good food!

Where are you?

I'm leaving today.

18 days, 3 continents, 20383 km.

Budapest - 1064 km - Istanbul - 8016 km - Hong Kong - 1605 km - Singapore - 8634 km - Istanbul - 1064 km - Budapest. Something like that...

Looking around in the Hong Kong and Singapore film and tv biz mostly. With a deep interest in eastern culture, people, cuisine and martial arts. And searching for dragons for sure! With only few clothes in a bag but with a small post production studio on my back to be able to edit video anywhere and show you as much as I can about this journey in one-minute films.

And here I'd like to grab the opportunity to say thanks for this blog to my friend Oizys the big guru and bass-master, find out more about him at Kultblog.hu or even more at Tuzfeszek!

So wish me luck and come back soon, hope to find the dragon in Hong Kong!

My way
