Singapore, Hungarian Lessons feat Jerry from Gergely Laszlo-Zwickl on Vimeo.

I made it! Chennai - Hyderabad, 13 hours. And it's not 400 km, it's actually 700 km! It was a great trip! I had a good place to sleep, they gave me pillow, blanket, air-condition and I met friendly people on the train. Balu came for me to the station in the morning so from then on things are all right. I'm still under the Indian culture-shock but getting use to it slowly. Had shower in Balu's place, his grandparents are very nice people and told Balu not to give me 'crazy food', so we had 'english breakfast'. Antha manchiga undi!

Now we're in Studio 9, kind of a youth club in Hyderabad where boys and girls learn dance, art, fashion and music. Dr. Dub gives DJ-classes every day, today afternoon is hip-hop seminar, extremely funny! We're sharing a 6 square meter ari-conditioned studio with local guys and listening 'California Dreaming remix'. Cool! In the next few weeks I'll do my best to show you as much as I can about India.

This video is for Mr. Jerry Goh, the host of all hosts in Singapore, who learns Hungarian fast but didn't know where's the wifi area :) Thank you for everything, Jerry! Come to Budapest, man!

Whaczaaaa?

District 9 was not bed. But when I went to sleep last night and saw a big shadow moves at the corner I was a bit scared. First I thought it`s a mouse but it was not. It was a huge cockroach. After a half hours fight in the dark I finished him with the local newspaper. Sorry bro! So I set my mattress and moved from the floor up to the couch.
After cinema we checked out the brand new club of Singapore, The Butter Factory. Amazing design and sound, friendly people, beautiful girls and last but not least nice view to the One Fullerton, the Merlion and the Singapore lightshow.

Now it`s Saturday night, I`m sitting in Jerry`s workplace at HJGHER, we`re just after dinner. Thai chicken noodles, chili fish-ball and many other things served by the girls. And lots of sweet! It`s kind of an office-pick-nick that the guys are having every Saturday here. The building is in Holland Village park area. Apartment of Belinda, web designer and today`s cook at the first floor and Jerry`s design studio at the groundfloor with nice garden at the back. Cool!

Dinner & Design
Tomorrow I have to get myself injected with anti-malaria, but that scares me more is the tweleve-hours train trip across India.

Namaste!

Thanks to the High Commission of India and 200 SGD, I got my Indian visa this morning. As I'm co-called close to the country, and found pretty cheap plane tickets I'm leaving this beautiful island for India on this Sunday night and visit my good friend Dr. Dub aka. Dj. Balu in Hyderabad. From  Singapore I fly to Chennai, it's about a 3-4 hours flight. The hardest part comes only after this. I'll stay in Chennai for a night and on the next morning I'll take the train to Hyderabad. 12 hours on the track. Though! It's like eight sandwiches, six liter water and one pocket of cigarettes at least. We'll see, let's go to INDIA!

Thanks Dina! After picking up my visa at the Embassy I visited Infinite Frameworks. I met Mr. Freddie Yeo, General Manager of IFW, who presented the main activities of the company. With it's full-fledged post-production facilities in Singapore and a dedicated animation department on Batam Island (Indonesia) IFW is one of the biggest company that handle executive management, co-productions, financing, distribution and IP acquisitions of content for TV, digital platforms and feature films in Singapore. From broadcast design and branding across CGI, visual effects and 2D/3D animation till HD post-production and full motion video, it's needless to enumerate IFW's services here, rather visit their website, also check out frameworks-studios.com for more!
It's a friendly place, thank you Freddie and hope to see you soon!

Oh! One more thing. HT (Human Teleport) is expensive and dangerous thing here in Asia also in Europe. I have to stay with the usual traveling methods: airways. Dealing with them is not so easy but thanks to István, the transporter, this is not my business. He's the one who books and re-books, reserves and delays and manages all these things from Budapest. Thanks for everything CONNECTICKET!

After this little commercial beak now we go for giant insects from space with Jerry from the Block and watch District 9 at one of the local cinemas. 'Tell us how your weapons work...!'

Singapore Rain from Gergely Laszlo-Zwickl on Vimeo.

Yesterday night with Mr. Goh from the Block and his friends we had Thai food. The the restaurant was next to the Embassy of Thailand on Orchard Road. Massage parlors, beauty salons and nice ladies around as we entered the building. On the first floor I realized that this place is more than a Thai restaurant and these ladies are actually not ladies. Men. One by one. I was a bit freaked out, food was good anyway.

On the way back we passed by the High Commission of Thailand again. The road was full of smily girls! offering their services ervices. 'So what the hack is this in the middle of Singapore?' - I asked Jerry. 'Thailand is a very open country.' - he said. Great image for a nation!

After dinner we check out the Wednesday Night Retro Show at one of the Top 5 club of the world. The Zouk. Three dance halls designed like a Missy Elliot video, amazing sound and light, full Ibiza-flash. Something like Singapore: Cool!

'If there's something strange in your neighborhood Who ya gonna call...?'

Singapore's simply cool! I feel myself as I was in a cartoon. Everything looks good, sounds good, smells good. Well designed, well managed. And green! Everywhere. Just like walking in a giant orangery all around the city. Chinese, Malay and Indian people, culture, language and religion mixed up on an island like a nyummy fruit salad. And definitely not boring! Full of great places and friendly people. And this last also true in Hong Kong. People are helpful, friendly and gentle. As far as I see after two weeks in Asia. The smell of incenses, fumigants and awesome food blow in the humid air of Singapore. For Buddha and for the ghosts. Here's also g-h-o-s-t season with burnings and festivals.

Today with Mr. Jerry Goh and his friends we went to Chinatown to have dinner. Never try Chinese strange-looking red chili, even if you think yourself a though Hungarian guy who knows what paprika is! Never! I'm still crying. This place is so beautiful... So in Chinatown we checked out one of the local 'ghost festivals' where I was witness of old people ceremoniously dancing in front of the stage for the ghosts. Then other men dressed like women dancing on the stage on Chinese live music. Well, I don't know... I haven't seen any ghost, must be the music. Or they were behind the trees, don't know.

The picture was taken by Mr. Jerry Goh from the Block, who did not know that there's a free WiFi area under his flat next to the playground. I can show you around in Singapore, Jerry, anytime! Now sitting here, nearly fall asleep, so editing is for tomorrow. Wow! I was stuck in a restaurant because of heavy raining this afternoon and took a few shots. You'll see!
